Computer Recycling & Donation Program

Old tech doesn't have to end up in a landfill. We give it a second life — and put it in the hands of someone who needs it most.

♻️ Turn Old Tech Into Opportunity

Every year, millions of working computers are thrown away while underserved communities — orphanages, low-income schools, shelters, and veterans' centers — go without. 4 Core Labs bridges that gap. We take donated, recycled, and retired computers, refurbish them to professional standards, and give them to people who need a real shot at the future.

Every donated machine gets wiped to DOD-grade security standards, tested end-to-end, and loaded with GAIA — our AI-powered education platform — so the recipient doesn't just get a computer. They get a teacher, a tutor, and a path forward.

🌱 Why This Matters

Founder Joshua Taylor grew up as a hands-on learner who struggled in a system that didn't teach the way he learned. ADHD. Slow reading. Tests that made his mind go blank even when he knew the answers. He built GAIA and 4 Core Labs to change that — not just for himself, but for every kid who learns differently.

Orphans aging out of the system at 18 need real job skills. Adults with dyslexia need different learning paths. Slow readers need patience, not pressure. GAIA adapts to each person — and a refurbished computer with GAIA pre-loaded means they can start learning immediately. Whether it's coding, graphic design, IT fundamentals, or math — real skills that lead to real jobs.

"I didn't start this to make money. I started this because a friend of mine died — and the world acted like he was never here. I'm not here to get rich. I'm here because there's a kid somewhere right now who's smart, who's capable, who has something to offer the world — but nobody's giving them a shot. I know what that feels like. I lived it. So every computer we donate, every student we help, that's me making sure nobody else gets left behind the way Mark did. If your old computer can change one kid's life, why would you throw it away?"

GAIA doesn't just give answers — it adapts, asks questions, and teaches the way each student needs. Here's a real example of how a tutoring session works.

Why do batteries die? Like, what actually happens inside?

GAIA

Great question — you're thinking about what's really happening, not just memorizing. That's exactly how real scientists think. 🧪

Think of a battery like a water tower. Inside a lithium battery, there are two sides: one full of lithium atoms and one that wants them. When you use your phone, the lithium ions (think of them as water molecules) flow from one side to the other through a liquid called an electrolyte. That flow of ions is the electricity powering your phone.

When the battery is "dead," most of those ions have already moved to the other side. Charging pushes them back up the tower. Over time, some ions get "stuck" and can't move anymore — that's why old phone batteries don't last as long.

Student

So can I make a battery with stuff at home?

GAIA

Actually yes! You can make a simple one with a lemon, a copper penny, and a galvanized nail. The lemon juice is your electrolyte (the liquid the ions travel through), the copper and zinc create the two sides. It won't power your phone, but it'll make a small LED light up.

⚡ Try it and tell me what happens — we'll figure out why it works together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our services, GAIA, and the recycling program.

What services does 4 Core Labs offer?

We repair PCs and laptops, build custom gaming rigs and workstations, recover lost data from crashed drives, set up WiFi and IT networks, mount TVs, and set up smart home devices. We also run GAIA — our adaptive education platform — and a computer recycling program that puts refurbished tech in the hands of orphanages, schools, and underserved communities.

How much does a repair cost?

It depends on the issue. Most basic repairs (virus removal, software fixes, upgrades) start around $50-75. Hardware repairs like screen replacements or power supply swaps run $75-150. We always diagnose the problem for free and give you a quote before any work begins. No surprises. Get a free estimate.

What is GAIA?

GAIA is our AI-powered education platform designed for EVERY learner — K-12 students, adults, college students, homeschoolers, and underserved communities. It adapts to each person's learning style, whether they have ADHD, dyslexia, autism, or just learn differently. AI tutors guide them through real subjects with real job skills. It's privacy-first and free for orphanages and NGOs.

How does the computer recycling program work?

Simple: you donate old tech, we pick it up for free, securely wipe all data (DOD-grade), refurbish and test everything, install GAIA, and deliver it to orphanages, schools, shelters, and families in need. You get a donation receipt. Someone gets a future. Learn more.

Is GAIA really free for orphanages and nonprofits?

Yes. 100% free. Forever. We believe education shouldn't have a price tag for those who need it most. Orphanages, shelters, nonprofits, schools in underserved areas — they all get GAIA and refurbished computers at no cost. This is funded through our paid services, sponsors, and hardware recycling.

How do I donate a computer?

Fill out our contact form and select "♻️ Recycle / Donate Tech." We'll arrange a free pickup in the local area, or you can ship it directly to us at your expense. Desktops, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, hard drives, cables — if it powers on (or can be repaired), we'll take it.

How do I request a donated computer?

If you're an orphanage, school, shelter, nonprofit, or family in need, contact us and select "Request a Donated Computer." We distribute on a first-come, first-served basis. Every machine comes with GAIA pre-installed and ready to use. No hidden costs, no catch.

What makes GAIA different from other learning platforms?

GAIA is built by someone who actually struggled in school. Our founder Joshua has ADHD and is a hands-on learner — he built GAIA because the system failed him. So GAIA adapts to YOUR learning style: visual, audio, hands-on, slow-paced, fast-paced — whatever works. It has AI tutors that teach by asking questions (not just giving answers), supports neurodivergent students, and runs on donated hardware. No internet required for core features.

How can my company sponsor or partner with 4 Core Labs?

We have 4 partner tiers: Founding Partner (premium placement + annual report), Impact Partner (sponsor computers), Tech Partner (donate hardware/components), and Community Partner (schools & nonprofits). All partners receive a donation receipt. Get in touch and we'll find the right fit.

Do you offer a warranty on repairs and builds?

Yes. Every repair comes with a 30-day warranty on labor. Custom PC builds come with a 90-day warranty on labor and all manufacturer warranties on parts are passed directly to you. If something we fixed breaks again, we'll make it right. That's the 4 Core Labs promise.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Ozark, Alabama and serve the Wiregrass region — including Dothan, Enterprise, Troy, Daleville, Fort Novosel, and surrounding communities. We offer in-shop service, house calls, and pickup/dropoff. For GAIA education access — that's available to anyone, anywhere online.

Do you do house calls?

Yes. If you can't bring your computer to us, we'll come to you — whether it's your home, office, or business. House calls cover Ozark, Dothan, Enterprise, Troy, and surrounding areas. Same rates, no travel fee within our service zone. Schedule a visit.
