Terms of Service for GAIA Platform

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the GAIA Platform operated by 4 Core Labs.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By creating an account or using GAIA, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

GAIA is an AI-powered adaptive learning platform that provides:
- AI teachers specialized by grade level and subject
- Personal AI study companions for students
- Progress tracking and learning analytics
- Course content for programming, robotics, and other subjects
- Test and assessment features with anti-cheating measures

3. ACCOUNT REQUIREMENTS

- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information
- You must be at least 4 years old to use GAIA
- Users under 13 must have a parent or guardian create and manage their account
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure
- You must notify us immediately of unauthorized use of your account
- One person per account unless using a family plan

4. USER CONDUCT

You agree NOT to:
- Use GAIA for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to bypass the test lockdown system
- Cheat, plagiarize, or use AI to complete assessments dishonestly
- Share your account credentials with others
- Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
- Submit false information to manipulate progress or rankings
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or modify the platform
- Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the platform

5. AI COMPANION RULES

- Personal AI companions are for study purposes only
- AI companions are disabled during tests and assessments
- You cannot modify, transfer, or sell your AI companion
- AI companion configurations may be reset if used in violation of these Terms
- 4 Core Labs reserves the right to disable companions that violate rules

6. TEST LOCKDOWN SYSTEM

- When a test or assessment is active, your personal AI companion enters lockdown mode
- During lockdown, AI assistance is completely unavailable
- Attempting to bypass lockdown is a violation of these Terms
- Repeated bypass attempts may result in account suspension

7. SUBSCRIPTION PLANS

GAIA offers free and paid plans:
- Free Plan: Limited features, available to all users
- Paid Plans: Additional features, subject to subscription fees

Payment terms:
- Prices are listed in USD
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- You can cancel anytime from your account settings
- No refunds for partial months unless required by law
- We may change pricing with 30 days notice

8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

- GAIA, its content, AI teachers, and platform design are owned by 4 Core Labs
- User-created AI companion configurations remain the user's property
- You may not copy, redistribute, or sell GAIA content without permission
- User-submitted content grants 4 Core Labs a license to use it for platform improvement

9. FREE USE FOR ORPHANAGES & NGOs

4 Core Labs provides free GAIA access to:
- Orphanages and children's homes
- Verified non-profit organizations serving underserved communities
- Schools in developing countries through our mission program

10. ACCURACY OF INFORMATION

- AI-generated content is for educational purposes and may contain errors
- Users should verify important information with authoritative sources
- 4 Core Labs is not responsible for decisions made based on AI-generated content
- Learning progress metrics are estimates and may not reflect actual competency

11. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

GAIA IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that GAIA will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet all your requirements.

12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- 4 Core Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the past 12 months
- We are not liable for loss of data, grades, or academic outcomes
- We are not responsible for third-party services (Supabase, Cloudflare) outages

13. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify 4 Core Labs from claims arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your use of GAIA in an unauthorized manner
- Content you submit to the platform
- Attempts to bypass security measures

14. TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Engage in cheating or academic dishonesty
- Attempt to bypass the test lockdown system
- Share your account with unauthorized users
- Are inactive for 12+ months on a paid plan

You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard settings.

15. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dale County, Alabama.

16. CHANGES TO TERMS

We may update these Terms with 30 days notice. Continued use of GAIA after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of material changes via email or platform notification.

17. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
